Conscious Consumption
These days, the concept and or practice of Conscious Consumption is often reduced to the mere usage of resources within the framework of waste, capitalism, and products. However, Conscious Consumption encompasses much more, inviting you to rethink the relationship with everything you take in and what you consume physically, emotionally, energetically and Spiritually. For example, that’s everything from the TV content you “consume”/watch, the Instagram page you’re comparing yourself to, the people you surround yourself with, the thoughts you internalize as truths, and more.
At Kambo Care and The Harmony Lab, we’re running on the philosophy that Conscious Consumption is truly essential to achieving a more easeful and intentional existence with less static.
I’m gonna break it down a bit more in this Lab Note. I’ve always wanted to get these notes more hashed out… so here we are.
Essence of Conscious Consumption
Conscious Consumption is about making mindful choices regarding what you consume and allow into your lives. It’s a practice of bringing awareness to the impact various forms of consumption has on your physical, mental, energetic, emotional and Spiritual well-being. By taking control of your choices and habits, you can create a life that is less noisy and more in harmony with what is True to you.
The Kambo Connection
Kambo, often referred to as the "Cleanse of All Cleanses," is a powerful tool for detoxifying the body, mind, emotions, and energies. Preparation and integration are essential, and I emphasize the importance of Conscious Consumption in this work with clients. For those who aren't already practicing mindfulness and living more consciously (this term is so Instagram watered down it makes me wanna barf) in their daily lives, the preparation and integration process with Kambo helps them understand how their daily consumption directly affects their overall health, sense of balance, and vitality.
When working with Kambo, it is crucial to be mindful, focusing on emptying the vessel of heavy energies and reducing the intake of specific foods, habits and toxins. Clients should be particularly conscious of their diet and lifestyle choices during the preparation process to support the effectiveness of the Kambo treatment. This mindful consumption creates a clean and receptive state, enhancing the overall potential of the connection to the frog and the depth of ceremony.
Being conscious about what you consume is a beautiful offering to the temple that is your Life.
Conscious Consumption allows you to live as if Life is a ceremony, where each choice matters and fuels your being and all those you grace.
Daily Practices for Conscious Consumption
1. Food as Medicine
You already know that your put into your body has a huge impact on your physical and mental state. By choosing whole, nutritious foods and avoiding processed, artificial substances, and these hellish GMOs, you nourish your body and support the natural detoxification processes. Eating mindfully also means being present during meals, savoring each bite (this helps for enzymatic production too so you digest well), being super grateful for the nosh and listening to your body's hunger and fullness cues. Just be present yo and get off your phone. :)
2. Curate Your Media and Tech Diet
The media you consume shapes your perceptions, emotions and purchasing. It’s obvious, we all know it, but so many are hooked. Check yourself where you’re at with this. By selectively choosing when, for how long and what you watch, read, and listen to, you can reduce exposure to waste and cultivate a healthy sovereign mindset anchored in grounded critical thinking. This might mean taking regular digital detoxes to reconnect with yourself and your surroundings, or getting more real about where your news consumption comes from, or choosing educational content to enrich yourself instead of passive screentime.
3. Surround Yourself with Positive Influences
The people you interact with can either drain your energy or uplift it. By consciously surrounding yourself with authentic, inspiring, loving, and supportive individuals, you create an environment that nurtures your growth and well-being. It’s essential to set boundaries with those who bring drama into your life (or just let them go) and seek out dynamics that inspire and empower your Truth. Connection can be nutritional while you may realize other connections are toxic. You gauge what is in alignment.
4. Cultivate Healthy and Sustainable Thought Patterns
Your thoughts are a form of consumption that profoundly affect your mental and emotional health. Practicing mindfulness and self-awareness allows you to observe thoughts and choose which ones to engage with. By cultivating an affirmation practice or challenging negative self-talk, you can create a more peaceful inner world. This does not mean I’m suggesting tunnel-vision toxic positivity either. It is fierce and powerful to face our Shadows too. When I speak of cultivating healthy and sustainable thought patterns it’s about breaking narratives, programming, inner-dialogues.
Take Control of Your Consumption and Choices
This practice of Conscious Consumption is powerful because you can take into your hands daily, anytime, anywhere. By being mindful of what you consume in all aspects of life, you can feel more empowered, more grounded, and less overwhelmed by the noise of the world (I’m not condoning turning a check to the atrocities of the world).
Conscious Consumption allows you to be in integrity with what is truly best for you.

Whether you are preparing or integrating a Kambo session or seeking to level-up your daily life, being mindful of what you consume can make a huge difference. And it is extremely empowering since you’re the driver of the process.
Every choice you make is an opportunity to nourish your body, mind, and spirit. Choose well-being.
